Team Russia prevailed with a Bronze medal Sunday after a triumphant win over the United States. However, instead of focusing on the prize, Team Russia’s head coach took the opportunity to again lash out against Nail Yakupov.
Oleg Znarok took time after the win to comment on the issue involving Yakupov’s exclusion from the Team Russia roster at World’s, according to Russian Journalist Slava Malamud.
Znarok said that Yakupov’s cut from the Team Russia roster at the IIHF World Hockey Championship was “addition by subtraction” for Team Russia.
The feud and war of words has been going on for weeks now, ever since Znarok tried to claim that Yakupov didn’t make the cut because of an injury.
