Edmonton Oilers: Takeaways From Red Wings Victory

Coming off a weekend with two straight wins, there was plenty the Oilers improved on. Despite missing a few players thanks to injury, Edmonton played a tight game and maintained momentum throughout, making do without their full line-up.

Klefbom/Larsson Duo Worked Wonders

Adam Larsson and Oscar Klefbom were truly a shutdown pairing against Detroit. Both of them led the Oilers’ blueliners in ice time and combined for five shot blocks and three hits. Not to mention, both were a plus-1 and provided great insurance on special teams. Klefbom provided a secondary helper on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins’ power-play tally, and Larsson was a force on the penalty kill.
