NBC Sports announced its 2016-17 NHL schedule on Thursday, with a record-high 106 regular-season games that airing nationally on NBC and NBCSN. And the Edmonton Oilers won’t be appearing any of them. Not even one.
This isn’t really a shocker, considering there hasn’t been an nationally televised Oilers game in the States in over a decade. But with the most exciting young player in the game, Connor McDavid, on the team, one could assume the Oilers would at least be featured in one game.
The Chicago Blackhawks will make the most appearances (21) on NBC or NBCSN this season, followed by the Philadelphia Flyers (20), Pittsburgh Penguins (15), New York Rangers (15) and Washington Capitals (14).
