Edmonton Oilers Sign Shane Starrett to Entry-Level Deal

Starrett started in 37 games for the Air Force this season, posting a 26-6-4 record with a 1.99 GAA and .925 save mark. The 6-foot-5, 194-pound netminder went undrafted, and will likely suit up for Bakersfield.

With Edmonton finding a stable backup in Laurent Brossoit, and likely trusting him with the #2 duties with this transaction, Starrett is a solid signing. The Falcons consider him a cornerstone of the team. He brought them to the second round of the NCAA tournament, and is a key part of the team’s future plans.

Starrett will likely play backup to Nick Ellis, who is thriving with the Condors.
