Edmonton Oilers Sign LW Milan Lucic to Long-Term Deal

The Edmonton Oilers have signed left winger Milan Lucic to a seven-year, $42 million contract, General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced Friday.

The 6-foot-3, 233 pound winger has been rumored to be interested in signing with Edmonton since it was revealed that he would not sign an extension with the Los Angeles Kings. Lucic will bring a lot of size, physicality and grit to the Oilers line up, and is likely Edmonton’s attempt to replace Taylor Hall.

Not only is this signing to fill the new void on left wing, but it is one that is expected to change the team culture.
