Edmonton Oilers Sign Jesse Puljujärvi to Entry Level Contract

The Edmonton Oilers have signed right winger and 2016 fourth-overall pick Jesse Puljujärvi to a three-year entry-level contract, General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced Monday.

The deal comes after the Oilers Orientation Camp in Jasper, Alberta. Though Puljujärvi did not skate due to a knee injury, the forward was present at camp and participated in off-ice workouts.

Edmonton was reportedly in agreement for a three-way deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Calgary Flames in the draft; however, when the Blue Jackets selected Pierre-Luc Dubois third-overall over Puljujärvi, the supposed trade was off the table and Edmonton selected the SM-Liiga winger.
