Edmonton Oilers Sign G Jonas Gustavsson to One-Year Deal

The Edmonton Oilers have signed goaltender Jonas Gustavsson to a one-year contract, General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced Friday.

This is the second signing the Oilers have made in free agency. Gustavsson is another backup goaltending option for Edmonton; with Cam Talbot as the starter going forward, Gustavsson is expected to compete for the backup spot with Laurent Brossoit, who has potential to become the Oilers’ number-two goaltender but has struggled in his call-ups to the NHL.
