The Oilers seem to lack quality depth on right wing. Jordan Eberle isn’t living up to his full potential, and overall, the Oilers don’t have many quality, high-scoring wingers. Head coach Todd McLellan tried to solve the issue by moving third-line centre Leon Draisaitl to the second-line right wing. Thankfully, Drake Caggiula has fit into the 3C role nicely, coming straight out of the NCAA.
However, the right-wing situation isn’t solved. Jesse Puljujarvi isn’t living up to his full potential, and Tyler Pitlick has fallen victim to injury. Taylor Beck was given the opportunity to seize the third-line RW role, but couldn’t capitalize on the chance.
