The hunt for a number one defensemen continues halfway through May, as the Edmonton Oilers are still trying to put the pieces together and figure out how they will get their number one defensemen. In recent days, there have been interesting rumors going around regarding the Oilers adn their quest for defense.
After Travis Hamonic rescinded his trade request, Oilers fans looked to the Stars (literally), hoping that they would take a run at defenseman Jason Demers, a big, aggressive defender who is an UFA this off-season.
However, according to Dallas Morning News columnist Tim Cowlishaw, the Stars may very well hang onto Demers for the right price, and try to figure out what bigger role he can play.
