The Edmonton Oilers were still thought to be top runners in the trade quest for Travis Hamonic, the star New York Islanders defenseman who requested a trade earlier this season. However, that is all over now, considering Hamonic has rescinded his trade requested.
Newsday reported the news, saying they have found out that he recently took back his request to be traded. Earlier in the year, Hamonic went to General Manager Garth Snow and requested a trade to a team located in Western Canada, preferably Winnipeg, in order to be closer to his family.
