Khaira was injured shortly after his call-up to the Oilers. The 22-year-old suited up for about five games with Edmonton this season and scored his first NHL goal. Unfortunately, he was hurt in a January game against the Florida Panthers and placed on the IR with an upper-body injury.
The Oilers activated Khaira Feb. 18, and he drew back into the lineup this past week.
With Khaira back into the mix, the Oilers have a better chance of generating offence. He is a versatile winger who can start the rush and get involved physically. Khaira possesses the perfect frame, and can play a smart two-way game.
