Edmonton Oilers rookie camp is underway, and it started off with a big 4-1 win over the Canucks’ rookies in game one of the Young Stars Classic in Penticton.
Though there were outstanding performances all-around, the most impressive games came from two players in particular. Right winger Jesse Puljujarvi and goaltender Nick Ellis were outstanding for the Oilers in their debut.
Puljujarvi finished the night with three points, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Though his first goal came on a one-timer, giving the Oilers a 2-0 lead, it was the second goal that told more about his potential.
