Perhaps the most notable name at the tournament is Oilers prospect Kailer Yamamoto. The 18-year-old already turned heads this past season with a 99-point performance at the WHL level. However, with an already strong showing through two games at the showcase so far, he continues to impress.
Yamamoto was invited to represent Team USA in the World Junior Summer Showcase back in June. He scored the game-winning goal for USA Blue in a 4-2 win over Team Finland Sunday.
All of the highlights from Sunday’s action can be found below.
As Yamamoto continues to develop and work toward his NHL goals, he is making a strong case to push for a possible NHL roster spot.
