Though many speculate that the Edmonton Oilers are thinking about trading their fourth-overall pick in exchange for a number-one defenseman. However, they may also consider keeping it and drafting someone like Matthew Tkachuk, or even trading down just a couple of spots.
The Oilers have been in Buffalo, New York this entire week for the 2016 NHL Draft Combine. Saturday, the players will have participated in the physical fitness testing, but before that, they were interviewed by all 30 NHL teams. The Oilers interviewed exactly 85 prospects, according to their official website.
“Just putting a face to the name of the player that you’ve been watching all year,” Oilers Director of Player Personnel Bob Green, head of the Oilers scouting department, told Oilers.
