The Edmonton Oilers were shuffling lines around to start the year, but when they paired Connor McDavid and Benoit Pouliot on a line together, things started to look up. With any sniping winger on their side, whether it be Jordan Eberle or Nail Yakupov, both McDavid and Pouliot worked as a lethal one-two punch, even though many underestimated the value of the latter.
However, with Pouliot’s shoulder injury last night, it seems that the Oilers have lost yet another valuable asset. Pouliot, who had a career record 36 points in just 55 games, seemed to have suffered a horrifying shoulder injury in Sunday’s 3-1 win over the New York Islanders.
