The Edmonton Oilers have placed Rob Klinkhammer on waivers this morning, general manager Peter Chiarelli announced. If he clears, which he most likely will be, he will be reassigned to the team’s AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors.
In 13 games with the Oilers this season, Klinkhammer has one goal and four PIM. The former Coyote is a minus-6 and has spent time not only on the injured reserve, but in the press box as a healthy scratch.

While Klinkhammer has failed to prove himself to the team this season, especially after resigning a $725,000 extension after being traded twice last year, he has strong skills that include impressive puck possession stats.
