With the off-season looming, the Edmonton Oilers have a lot of cap space to clear, trades to consider and a fourth-overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
General manager Peter Chiarelli took the time to speak to “Sportsnet” in a panel about the upcoming summer (dubbed as the “Summer of Peter”) at the MasterCard Memorial Cup Championship game, where the London Knights took on the Brandon Wheat Kings.
“I’m looking at all options,” Chiarelli said. “We’ve got to improve now, but there’s some pretty good future players out here and elsewhere.”
However, Chiarelli did not want to address all the speculation just yet, considering there is still a long time before the true off-season begins (July 1).
