The Edmonton Oilers recently made an incredibly unique transaction: they managed to sign Drake Caggiula, the NCAA MVP and North Dakota star, to an entry-level deal, beating out many other teams attempting to court him.
Caggiula went undrafted and is ready to prove himself to the rest of the National Hockey League. He was one of the most sought-after forwards after fighting his way to the top, and despite his 5-foot-9 frame, he is trying to prove that he will make a rather big impact.
“It’s kind of a blessing in disguise,” Caggiula told edmontonoilers.com about not being drafted.
