As we all know, Andrew Ference is currently the captain of the Edmonton Oilers. Although he is a good-hearted, caring individual, and although he is always involved in supporting the team and the surrounding community, he is not playing like a captain should be playing. Therefore, with a new coach and new changes, it seems like the “C” could be taken off his chest.
However, with Ference no longer the captain, the question remains? Which Oiler should step up and become our new captain? I have an interesting solution that Todd McLellan tried with the San Jose Sharks, and that the Montreal Canadiens are currently following.
