Edmonton Oilers fan may have had grander designs for Day 1 of the NHL Draft.
That seems strange to even say, as the club came away with an asset that promises to be one of the Top 3 players in the history of the franchise in Connor McDavid. It was the #16 over-all pick that held such intrigue, and indeed General Manager Peter Chiarelli put it in play, Friday night. But the move, sending the #16 AND #33 picks to the New York Islanders for former Oil King Griffin Reinhart, received mixed reviews from Edmonton Oilers fans.
