Well, you can’t win ‘em all. After winning the 2015 Draft lottery and landing a star GM in Peter Chiarelli, the Oilers missed out on landing hot shot free agent goaltender Matt O’Connor, out of Boston University.

Speculation had been building over the past couple of weeks over where he was going to sign, and the list had apparently been narrowed down to Ottawa, Edmonton, Vancouver and the New York Rangers.
The 23 year old O’Connor went undrafted in his original draft year, 2010 and has spent the last 3 seasons with Boston University of the NCAA.
