In Sunday’s loss to the Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers winger Matt Hendricks crushed Aaron Ekblad into the boards. While he wasn’t penalized, he will now be suspended for three games.
Ekblad was rushing behind his net to pick up the puck with Hendricks right on his tail. When facing the boards, Hendricks body checked him, and Ekblad’s helmet came loose and fell off his head before he hit the ice. He fell down and was slow to get up, and he stumbled when he finally did. He went off to the dressing room but returned short time later to continue the game.
