As per TSN’s Ryan Rishaug, Edmonton is planning to address their needs for right wing and defensive depth by investing in AHL/NHL free agents. This explains the earlier report of Edmonton looking into signing pending UFA Ty Rattie.
When it comes to available NHLers on the market, players like Jaromir Jagr and Justin Williams are available, but they do come with a bit more of a price tag. If the Oilers invest in AHL wingers, they can add depth to their roster while spending less money.
Edmonton could also consider re-signing Tyler Pitlick.
