While it looks like they’ll be facing the San Jose Sharks in the first round, the Oilers will benefit from having the majority of those matchups at Rogers Place (if the series lasts that long). Both games one and two will take place at Rogers Place, and the Oilers would also be host to games five and seven, whether or not those games happen.
This is also the first time since 1986-87 that the Oilers hit the 100-point mark, putting up 101 points. That was the same year that Edmonton won a Stanley Cup.
