Since coming back from injury in mid-February, Khaira has struggled to make a difference in the lineup and has battled for his spot on the forward lines. He is currently in a competition with Anton Slepyshev for that spot on the fourth line RW.
Prior to Saturday’s victory over Colorado, Khaira had been a healthy scratch for seven straight games. He is in the midst of a lengthy scoring drought, and in just nine minutes of ice time Saturday, he had no hits or shots on goal. Looking at his play of late, he will have to step up if he wants to return to the lineup.
