The Edmonton Oilers have had a decent free agency so far, making some moves and upgrades on the backend while signing Milan Lucic, one of the most sought-after UFAs. However, there is without a doubt some work to still be done, and surely enough, Peter Chiarelli is aware of this.
It has been reported by many insiders, including TSN’s Ryan Rishaug, that the Oilers won’t continue to pursue upgrades in defense via free agency, as they are waiting for a “big fish” to make another trade. That big fish is suspected to be Tyson Barrie, who is currently in a tough arbitration case with the Colorado Avalanche.
