The Edmonton Oilers are facing off against the Winnipeg Jets in the 2016 NHL Heritage Classic on Oct. 23, and we may get to see those jerseys sooner rather than later. According to TSN’s Gary Lawless, the NHL will be in Winnipeg Friday, where they will likely make the announcement regarding details about the outdoor game, including the sweaters.
The first Heritage Classic was in 2004, when the Edmonton Oilers faced off against the Montréal Canadiens. It ended in a 4-3 loss for Edmonton, and their sole outdoor game. The last Heritage Classic came in 2014, when the Ottawa Senators faced off against the Vancouver Canucks.
