Well the NHL season comes to an end tonight but for some Edmonton Oilers players they are headed to Russia to play in the World Hockey Championships. There are 16 countries in total and are split into two divisions in a round robin format.
Group A:
Group A consists of Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Latvia, Norway, Denmark, and Kazakhstan.
This is a big event for the host Russians because this is the first international hockey event since the 2014 Olympics. At the Olympics the Russians had a poor tournament and finished in 5th place to the dismay of the country.
