TSN’s Ryan Rishaug first reported the news Friday, saying that Edmonton was one of 4-5 teams that have asked about Rattie. The 24-year-old forward, who didn’t receive a qualifying offer from the Carolina Hurricanes, is set to hit the free agent market Saturday. He is a 32nd overall pick who has yet to truly prove his worth as a full-time NHLer.
Rattie played just nine games in the NHL this season between Carolina and St. Louis, registering two assists and four takeaways. He did not turn over the puck once, and also managed to average around a hit per game.
