The Edmonton Oilers may dip into free agency this off-season to find some upgraded defense, and we are evaluating each option. Today, we look at a Vancouver Canucks defenseman rumored to hit the open market this off-season: Dan Hamhuis. Hamhuis was a sought after trade deadline rental player but the Canucks decided not to trade him and planned to have him anchor their blueline. Now it sounds as though the Canucks may not be able to afford to keep him and bring in a big name winger to play with the Sedin twins.
Hamhuis is a big veteran, coming in at 6-foot-1, and he is left-handed.
