The Edmonton Oilers got off to about as bad a start as humanly possible on Saturday. Mental errors and sloppy play were the theme the entire game. The Devils were prepared to play from the opening puck drop, the Oilers were not. Seemingly every puck battle went in the Devils favour, resulting in the Oilers only having 3 shots in the second period, two of which came in the final minute of that period.
The same problems that plagued the Oilers a season ago were on full display. Running around without any real purpose leading to mistakes that NHL players shouldn’t be making.
