This just in, from the Edmonton Oilers pre-game skate this morning…
Cam Talbot, the Oilers #1 goalie, is sick and will not start tonight versus the Winnipeg Jets. That means Laurent Brossoit will make his 2nd NHL start, in front of a nation-wide audience, tonight.
You may recall Brossoit’s first go-round, Todd McLellan sure does: A 49-save loss to the San Jose Sharks last April, a game in which he stopped 49 pucks. Since then, Brossoit has become an AHL All-Star, surely the kind of progress the organization would have hoped for, when they acquired him in the Ladislav Smid trade.
