It is universally agreed that the Edmonton Oilers won the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, leaving with Jesse Puljujärvi, some big, strong defensemen, a goaltender and a couple of strong-performing forwards. However, some are baffled by the fact that the Oilers did not leave with a number-one defenseman.
For Peter Chiarelli, time is an asset; he waits until the perfect time to either pull the trigger, or leave things as they are. While it is surprising that the Oilers still have yet to make a trade, the time is coming. It is not a matter of if, but a matter of when.
