Edmonton Oilers: Dylan Wells Signing Adds Goaltending Depth

Wells made his impact in the OHL with the Peterborough Petes, posting a 3.07 GAA and .916 save percentage through 52 regular season games. In the playoffs, Wells posted an 8-4 record with a 2.51 GAA and .930 save percentage, while helping the Petes reach the conference finals. In addition to that, Wells was up for the OHL Goaltender of the Year award and won the team’s Most Outstanding Player Award.

With this transaction, the Oilers add more depth to their goaltending. It appears more likely than not that Laurent Brossoit will become the team’s full-time backup. Unless of course, the Golden Knights take him in the expansion draft, which appears unlikely.
