Leon Draisaitl headed to Germany to play in the IIHF World Championship and represent his country. Connor McDavid will not report to Team Canada or participate in IIHF Worlds, likely because he needs rest.
Draisaitl had a career season, posting 29 goals and 77 points through 82 games. The 21-year-old also led the Oilers with six goals and 16 points through 13 playoff games. As an elite forward, Draisaitl also swapped between the winger and centre positions, excelling in both areas.
Playing with McDavid, Draisaitl made up the second half of the league’s deadliest duo. Combined, they ended up posting 177 points through the regular season.
