Edmonton Oilers: Anton Slepyshev Poised for Comeback

The Edmonton Oilers were ecstatic when Anton Slepyshev broke out during training camp, posting impressive numbers in the preseason and foreshadowing a great season to come. In fact, the team was so excited that they kept him on the opening night roster, but unfortunately, his performance would soon decline.

After about 11 games in the NHL, Slepyshev (a left wing) was forced to play on his offside and only posted a single assist, and was a minus-5. He was then sent back down to the AHL, where he’d finish the season and continue to develop with the Bakersfield Condors.
