With the signing, the pending RFA will not return to the Oilers organization and will play in the KHL next season. This is not a surprise, as Lander has not completely made the cut into a full-time NHL player. Not to mention, despite an outstanding performance in the AHL, Lander hasn’t had the opportunity to make an impact at the top level.
In 42 AHL games this past season, Lander put up 25 goals and 55 points. He played 22 games with Edmonton in 2016-17, posting just a lone goal and four points.
