Larsson’s overall presence has become more prominent as the season has progressed. Like many others on this budding Oilers squad, Larsson has grown into the player that Peter Chiarelli had promised when trading away one of the game’s best wingers. One of the main reasons for his elevated play could be how the coach is doling out his ice time.
Numbers Game
October through December saw Larsson’s ice time at an average of 280 minutes per month. That’s Duncan Keith territory. In January, he topped out at 201 minutes and is on pace for around 250 in March.
