The Edmonton Oilers may have gotten an upgrade to their defensive corps by acquiring shutdown defenseman Adam Larsson, but they still lack a power-play quarterback and puck mover on that right side. Therefore, there are still options left, and there’s no believing that General Manager Peter Chiarelli is done just yet.
As we said, patience is Chiarelli’s greatest asset, and when he holds out, he seems to reap more of the rewards.
That’s exactly what the Oilers may be looking to do when it comes after rumored long-time target Tyson Barrie. The puck-moving Avalanche defender is eligible to file for arbitration starting Tuesday, and as per multiple sources, that is where the restricted free agent is headed.
