The last time the Oilers started this season this strong was in 1985-86. That’s a bit over 30 years ago.
This is a new-look team with a new mentality, and so far, they have proven to be a lot better than last year’s team. Because of their stronger appearance, we should perhaps take a look at the biggest change they had this offseason on the first line left wing.
After trading Taylor Hall in exchange for defenseman Adam Larsson, the Oilers signed Milan Lucic to a seven-year contract to fill his void. Since coming in, he has had a big contribution so far.
