Dogged DeBrusk grew into being an NHL prospect

BUFFALO, N.Y. — During his transition from an undersized forward to a potential first-round draft prospect, Jake DeBrusk developed a dogged approach to the game.

So when he started to stretch up and fill out, he was just better equipped for scoring goals from the crease.

As evidenced by the 42 goals he had with the Swift Current Broncos this past season, DeBrusk also possesses a more proficient scoring touch than his dad, Louie, who made his living in the NHL with his fists.

He had the kind of season that piqued the interest of 29 teams, who interviewed the Edmonton athlete at the recent NHL Scouting Combine.
