It’s tough to say at this point if the Edmonton Oilers have enough momentum to will themselves to a wildcard spot, but they are making things interesting for most of their fanbase. Knocking off the lowly Ottawa Senators on Thursday was a given but shutting out the Columbus Blue Jackets last night was a pleasant surprise.
That 4-0 performance for the Oilers has been a rarity for most of the year, and it couldn’t come at a better time for a hockey club that has been reeling with media scrutiny and management ineptitude for a very long time.
