The Edmonton Oilers checked off one more contractual obligation on Thursday, signing defenceman Brandon Davidson to a one-year deal.
The 23-year-old, drafted by the club in the sixth round of the 2010 draft, spent the past three seasons with the Oklahoma City Barons, registering 28 points and 115 penalty minutes in 150 American Hockey League games.
He also made his NHL debut last season, stepping into the Oilers lineup on Dec. 14 against the Anaheim Ducks and went on to play another 11 games before season’s end. He scored his first goal, his first point, against the Colorado Avalanche on March 30.
