CLELEVAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University junior swimmer Claire Young (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.-Grosse Pointe South) completed her first of two days of competition at the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) National Invitational Championship (NIC) hosted by Cleveland State University, March 14. The junior kicked off the NIC's with a fifth-place finish in the 50 Backstroke.
Young earned a spot in the 'A' final with her preliminary heat swim of 25.43, the sixth-fastest effort in the morning swims. The evening saw the Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. native best her prelims time by .
