ALLENDALE, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team opened the 2018-19 season, Friday, Dec. 7, at the GVSU Holiday Open in Allendale, Mich. EMU was led by four event titles and 13 top-five finishes.

The Eagles earned event titles in the 60H, 5000m, and 400m, as freshman Alysse Wade (Mansfield, Ohio-St. Peters), senior Sydney Meyers (Zionsville, Ind.-Zionsville Community), and junior Micah Johnston (Toledo, Ohio-Toledo Christian) each started off their 2018-19 campaigns with first-place finishes.

In her collegiate debut, Wade bested her preliminary heat time of 8.
