YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University graduate transfer Tyler Wiegers (Lake Orion, Mich.- Detroit Country Day (Iowa)) was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week the league office announced, Sept. 10. Wiegers joins teammate Chad Ryland as the MAC's week two player of the week honorees.
Wiegers led the Eagles' offensive attack, completing 20-for-28 passes for 312 yards and a touchdown to lead EMU to a thrilling 20-19 win at Purdue University, Sept. 8. His 312-yard performance was the most passing yards by an Eagle since Brogan Roback threw for 328 yards in the 2016 Bahamas Bowl.
