CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University baseball senior Daniel Warkentin (Leamington, Ontario- Leamington District (Parkland)) has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced today, March 29.
The award is Warkentin's first of his career and the second weekly award the Eagles have earned this season.
The senior blasted five home runs in the four-game series versus Akron, March 25-26. He is the first Eastern Michigan player to hit five deep shots in a four-game stretch since the 2009 season, when Jim Gulliver did it between May 8-12.
