Volleyball Drops Heartbreaker to Central Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University volleyball program fell in a heartbreaking five-set match (18-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 7-15) to in-state rival Central Michigan University tonight, Oct. 20, inside the Convocation Center.

The loss drops the Eagles to 8-12 overall and 3-6 in Mid-American Conference play.

Redshirt sophomore Raeven Chase (Toronto, Ontario-Michael Power St. Joseph Power) led the Eastern Michigan attack with a career-high 19 kills and seven blocks. Two other Eagles also reached double-figures in redshirt freshman Krista Blakely (Detroit, Mich.-University High School Academy) and sophomore Samantha Basham (Granville, Ohio-Newark Catholic) with 15 and 10 kills, respectively.
