CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University sophomore golfer Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St. Joseph's) was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time this season, April 18, after a strong showing at the Rutherford Intercollegiate.
Celone previously took home the award after his third-place finish at the EKU Raising Canes Intercollegiate, Sept. 15-16.
The Long Sault, Ontario native picked up his fourth career top-10 showing at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, April 13-14, with a two-day mark of 213 (69-71-73) in a tie for ninth. Ranked 294th in the latest Golfweek Collegiate Rankings, Celone has posted 14 rounds at par-or-better this season with a scoring average of 72.
