YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country and volleyball teams received NCAA Public Recognition Awards Wednesday, May 16, for their exceptional work in the classroom as part of the NCAA's Academic Performance Program. The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams nationally. This is the sixth straight year that volleyball has been honored, while it marks the first time for men's cross country since 2004-05.
The awards are given annually to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in each sport with their Academic Progress Rates (APR).
